The driver of a tractor-trailer was taken to a hospital early Monday morning after a rock crashed through the windshield of his rig. The 47-year-old driver crashed on Highway 350 near 67th Street just after the incident. Police said it appears someone threw a rock from the overpass there. "I saw somebody -- looked like somebody on that bridge," truck driver Twann McGill told KMBC's Maria Antonia. "Next thing I know, I look back -- something coming through the glass hits my face." McGill said the glass shattered everywhere. "I closed my eyes and hit that wall," McGill said. "When I turned, I saw the wall. I thought, 'This was going to be it. I'm done.'" McGill was found unconscious in the cab of the tractor-trailer. He has to wear a neck brace for several weeks. "My neck's hurting really, really, really bad," McGill said. He said his rig may be ruined from the impact. McGill, who is an independent driver from Raytown, said he's been behind the wheel for 24 years and has never had an accident. McGill said he has no medical insurance. He said if someone threw that rock, they took away his livelihood. "It's pretty bad. Somebody must have no life to do something like this at two in the morning -- to cause me to be in here," McGill said. No arrests have been made. Anyone with information in the case can call the Crime Stoppers TIPS hot line at 816-474-TIPS.
